The sculpture demonstrates to the viewer the conflict of the helpless and inferior physical nature of man, which at the same time is balanced by the strength of spirit and boundless freedom of thought. This dramatic inner conflict generates an eternal and inevitable process of ups and downs, a struggle of possibilities and desires. Man is able to free himself from it and break the shackles only by completely overcoming himself.
