The sculpture "Birdfish" was conceived by Dedov as a utilitarian art object. The open beak of the fantastic creature is designed to hold wine bottles. The artist's irony lies in the combination of the creature's physical properties, as red wine is traditionally served with meat and poultry, and white wine with fish.
