The Bandar-logs are the fictional ape people from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, who kidnapped Mowgli after noticing his resemblance to an ape. Kipling's Bandar-logs are the embodiment of irresponsible demagogy and the inability to act in an organized manner. In the artist's hands the monkey comes to life and becomes a living illustration: as in many of Kulikov's sculptures, the animal's mouth, paws and tail are movable.
